The Plan Builder stores nothing

This is the part that matters most, so it goes first. When you use the Preparedness Plan Builder, everything you enter stays in your browser. Household size, climate, dwelling type, duration, and the medical device flag are never transmitted to us, never written to a database, and never associated with you.

The calculation runs locally in JavaScript. There is no submit step and no server round-trip. Close the tab and the plan is gone.

This is deliberate. A stored record of what a household keeps on hand is a registry of that household's supplies, and it is exactly the kind of list that should not exist. We would rather not be able to produce one.

What we do collect

• Standard server logs. Our host records requests, including IP address and user agent, for security and reliability.
• Aggregate traffic analytics. Page-level counts to understand which topics people find useful. Not tied to a person.

Affiliate links

When you click a product link you leave this site and land on the merchant. That merchant sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Amazon in particular uses a tracking parameter to attribute the visit to us. Read their policy if you want the detail.

What we never do

• Sell, rent, or trade reader information.
• Build profiles of individual readers.
• Store, log, or transmit the contents of your plan.
